Scenic glasswork

My Products

I’ve always loved the way that light moves through glass and throws colours throughout the room. One day whilst gazing out of my window, I stumbled upon the idea of putting pictures of my favourite local views onto glass.

About Me

Whilst I was working in Erwood Station Gallery, I came across the idea of putting pictures onto glass. I was enthused to find out that there wasn’t many others using the process and that spurred me on to learn more.

My next step was to contacted my glass suppliers and start testing various products.

The most exciting part for me is choosing the photographs. After long walks, days out or just a chance perfect light with a spectacular view, I can’t wait to get home and see what I’ve captured. I am so lucky to live amongst such beautiful places here in the Brecon Beacons & Wye Valley.

Part of the process is to resize the image to fit the glass design I have drawn, followed by the transferring every little bit of ink onto the glass; this is tricky as the vibrancy levels change in the process. Finally, it's onto the bench to put the glass pieces together either with the copper foiling method or with lead came - depending on the design.
